Who are we?   We are a group of dedicated volunteers interested in passing on our computer skills to others. We are affiliated with the national SeniorNet nonprofit organization.

What do we do?   We offer courses in computer subjects for senior citizens in the Central Florida area. Our program for beginners is split into two courses.
Introduction to Computers 1 is a short, 3-week course designed to make you feel comfortable using a computer. It provides hands-on training in the use of a mouse and the fundamentals of Windows. It also covers how a computer works and what you can do with a computer, including word processing and the Internet.
Introduction to Computers 2 is a 6-week course that teaches you how to use a computer. The course introduces word processing, but the skills taught are applicable to all Windows applications. The emphasis is on understanding how Windows and Windows applications work. The course also has sessions on e-mail and browsing the Internet.
You must take Introduction to Computers 1 before you can take Introduction to Computers 2.
We also offer advanced courses on the Internet, Buying and Selling on eBay, CD Burning, Digital Scrapbooking, Protecting Your Computer, Word Processing, Computer Genealogy, using Digital Photos, and managing your finances with Quicken.
We have taught over 3,500 students since our founding in 1996. See class photos of our students, our instructors and our coaches.

Why should you sign up?   Do you feel left behind by the computer revolution? With training, you can use a personal computer to write letters, balance your budget, keep records and send e-mail to your friends, children and grandchildren.
Do you know what your grandson means when he talks about "Surfing the Net?" We will not only tell you what it means, we'll have you Surfing the Net, too!
Read comments about the courses from some of our students.

Where are classes held?   Classes are held in the SeniorNet classroom at the Marks Street Senior Recreation Complex, 99 East Marks Street, Orlando. Directions. The classroom has ten IBM-compatible computers, one for each student. Our computers use the Windows operating system. (We do not teach the Macintosh computer.)

When are classes scheduled?   Each course meets for three hours one morning or afternoon per week. At least two sections of Introduction to Computers 1 are taught each month. However, since demand is high and each section is limited to ten students, there may be a wait before you can get into the course. Click to see the schedules for our beginner and advanced courses. Call us at 407-318-3256 to find out about availability.
For the day-by-day schedule of activites at the Learning Center, see our on-line calendar.

How much do classes cost?   Introduction to Computers 1 costs $30.00. Introduction to Computers 2 costs $60.00. Advanced courses are priced based on their length and the materials required. The prices are shown on the advanced course information page. Course fees should be paid by check when you sign up. SeniorNet membership is not required for any course at the SeniorNet Learning Center of Central Florida. The course fee is all you pay.
